The Robert and Susan Kozlowski L.I.F.T. Foundation Moves to Los Angeles
The Robert and Susan Kozlowski L.I.F.T. Foundation has moved its headquarters to Los Angeles, California. With this move L.I.F.T. Scholarships and Teacher Grant possibilities will be in the Los Angeles area. More specifics will follow. Ms. Kozlowski, the Foundation trustee, will be meeting with administrators, teachers, and other educational foundations in the L.A. area to decide how best to fulfill the mission of the L.I.F.T. Foundation in Los Angeles as it serves students and teachers in challenging educational settings.
Susan will continue to mentor the scholarship recipients at Purdue, Ball State, IUPUI, and IU. She has made trips to meet with these students already, as well as communicate through e-mail and phone contact. With the wonders of modern technology she is able to give advise and support no matter where she is located. Every week there is a question about classes, letters to write for internships, discussion of career options, guidance about interpersonal relationships, and that ever important reminder that Susan believes in these young people and supports them as they fulfill their personal dreams.
Finally, due to the success of the L.I.F.T. Goal Challenge Program this program will reach out on a national level in the fall of 2013. The programs success has been used for the NWEA tests in Indiana, but the basic premise of student mentoring and goal setting to achieve greater learning and improved test scores will be offered to all schools. Teachers and volunteers will be trained and materials will be supplied by the Foundation, as we embark on our mission to recognize the power of strong and meaningful mentorship.
