Shriya is a teacher at Horace Mann UCLA Community School. The teacher grant she received helped 7th grade science students use their understanding of human impact on global ecosystems to craft Claim-Evidence-Reasoning arguments that detail a strategy for mitigating environmental damage. Students then prepared, delivered, and filmed video letters explaining their strategies to an intended audience of local representatives – who will hopefully take our young scientists’ ideas to heart!
