To learn coding skills, my students have used the iPad app Hour of Code. To take their interest and learning further, the LIFT Foundation has generously given us the opportunity to plan, build and test their robotic designs through six Lego Mindstorm kits. Using the Engineering Design (ask, imagine, plan, create, improve), my students came up with their own question to research collaboratively in a small group  (i.e. How can my rover go to mars and bring back rocks?).

Students will build and program their robots to learn how the amount of coding that goes into space missions and how their digital coding can affect physical world objects. Bringing their designs to life, will give my students the challenge and progression they deserve, and help them see how far their coding skills can flourish!
