Bi-Yearly Dinner with Scholarship Recipients Becomes A Tradition
What fun to have the scholarship students meet one another and share their stories! What started as a one time dinner get-to-together has turned into a tradition. Ms. Kozlowski and all ten of the scholarship recipients have dinner to meet and share their accomplishments and have honest conversations about their college experiences. It is a time to celebrate and a time for each to mentor one another as they discuss any questions and concerns they faced, as well as share their achievements. Younger scholars learn from those more experienced and all share what they may do to inspire the next generation. At December’s dinner it was agreed that they would come back to Pike High School and go to the middle schools to share their stories. Plans are in the works to make this happen. They are excited to encourage these students through panel discussion. The dinners always have a moment to reflect and as one student said to another younger recipient this December… “Always, always know you are special and can achieve all you dream to be true.”
Look ahead for news this Spring of their panel discussions at local middle schools and Pike High School.
