Fall 2017, the L.I.F.T. Foundation began a partnership with U.C.L.A. Graduate School of Education and Informational Sciences to provide L.I.F.T. Teacher Grants to graduating first year teachers pursuing teaching opportunities in Los Angeles urban schools. The applications must meet all the criteria set forth for any teacher grant. Every opportunity to come together and share with the L.I.F.T. family is a chance to grow, learn, celebrate each accomplishment and give back to the community. Winter 2018 L.I.F.T. Scholars volunteered at the Special Needs Santa Gift Exchange in Los Angeles. We served food, played games with families, and handed out gifts to children. L.I.F.T. Scholar Graduates from Ball State
Janetta Sykes, graduated from Ball State. She received her Bachelors of Science in Health Science. She is the first in her family to receive a college degree. At home, there are 6 younger siblings all looking to her achievement as a role model for what is possible! The day was filled with celebration, joy, and pride as her Mom, Dad, aunt and uncle and two oldest sisters, as well as Mrs. Kozlowski were in attendance as she crossed the stage to receive her diploma.

The Robert and Susan Kozlowski L.I.F.T. Foundation is proud to announce the first Los Angeles based awarding of five four year scholarships to an incredibly diverse, multi-talented, community serving, academic successful group of seniors. All five recipients are graduates of Granada Hills Charter High School. Majde Al Salibi, Hiro Bower, Noe Torres, Leslie Santos, and Elmer Pangilinan have been awarded $38,000 in scholarship financing for 2013-2014 academic studies, totaling $152,000 over their 4-year career at California universities.

Scholarship Recipient’s Internship Becomes Real Life Experience
Zac Wobschall, a 2010 L.I.F.T. Scholarship recipient, who is an art student at the Herron School of Art and Design, at IUPUI, was looking for an internship to explore career paths when he graduates with his art degree. Justin Shimp, the producer at SmallBox Web Design, the web design company for the L.I.F.T. Foundation website, gave Zac the opportunity to shadow him this semester. It soon became evident that Zac was very talented and learned quickly. Justin and Susan Kozlowski, the L.I.F.T. Foundation trustee, agreed Zac could handle both copy and photo editing of the updated website. His shadowing position became an internship.

As another school year begins the L.I.F.T. Foundation is proud to offer L.I.F.T. Teacher Grants to teachers K-12 in Pike Township Schools. Teachers can apply for the grants offering up to $1500.00 for interactive student centered programs. Grant applications will be accepted through March 12th, 2012.
